That time between meals where your energy and concerntration levels are low and you just need a little something to get you through the next couple of hours… sound familiar? We all get it!
It can be a struggle not to run straight to the treat cupboard (or vending machine at work) when you next that quick fix. Instead, why not try some of these delicious and healthy snacks instead!
Carrots and humus
A sweet, fresh snack to give you a little energy before a meal.
Refreshing and naturally sweet.
Wholemeal pitta bread with humus
I promise this is not all about humus! But it’s a great flavour to add as an alternative to tomato ketchup! I only have this once a week to avoid eating too much bread!
Only lately I’ve started to like the taste of coconut (I’d like to thank my everyday use of coconut oil). They are really tasty and hit the spot for a light snack.
Almonds are so good for you and aid in suppressing bread or sugar cravings. They are high in fat but that’s ok, they are ‘good fats’ eat only a small handful per day.
Apples and peanut butter
I’m not a fan of apples but team them up with a tiny bit of peanut butter and it tastes outstanding. Perfect little afternoon snack.
