Natural ways to whiten your teeth

Want that photo finished beautiful pearly white teeth but don’t want to waste money ruining your teeth with harmful products? Read on for natural ways to whiten your teeth.

  • Banana peel
Simply rub the inside of a banana peel over your teeth for one minute before brushing for whiter results.
  • Bicarbonate of soda
    Bicarbonate of soda
is already a popular ingredient in whitening toothpaste. Adding extra Bicarbonate of soda to your toothpaste when brushing your teeth removes plaque and creates an alkaline environment in your mouth, which prevents bacteria from growing and leaving your teeth cleaner and whiter.
  • Strawberries
Eating strawberries is not only good for your health but the acid from the berries can aid in whitening your teeth. Simply eat a handful of strawberries every day – do not eat too much as fruit contains natural sugar and can still have an effect on your teeth.
  • Coconut oil
Coconut oil can remove the bacteria from your mouth which causes plaque, leaving your teeth whiter. This is a safer way to whiten as your teeth are not exposed to harmful ingredients.

    • Put 1 tablespoon of coconut oil in your mouth
    • Allow a few seconds for it to melt in your mouth
    • Start to ‘push and pull’ the coconut oil between your teeth for 10 minutes (swishing in your mouth like mouthwash)
    • Spit into a bin, do not swallow as consuming too much coconut oil can be bad for you
    • Repeat daily

I had heard about the coconut oil remedy before, but my first instructions were to do it first thing in the morning. Unfortunately, with a dog to walk and other obligations, doing it then didn’t work out very well. So I quit. Now I think I’ll try it again, because it really did whiten my teeth.
